Hi! Welcome to The Weekend Sessions.
I started getting into tea in late 2017, and started taking it quite seriously right around the time the first spring teas started coming out in 2018. Being a computer nerd who likes graphing and charting and over complicating things, I quickly became fascinated with pu’erh, where I can start a collection, track how they change over the years, obsess over storage, and everything else that goes along with it. This blog will mostly focus on pu’erh, but I’m sure will also feature all types as time goes on.
Before every purchase I pour over my favourite tea blogs and Steepster, reading tasting notes and trying to make an educated guess at what I will enjoy or at least find interesting, but I found what was lacking pretty well everywhere was reviewers re-visiting their cakes later on down the line. It’s all well and good to read about how 2014 cake tasted a few months after it was pressed, but coming onto the scene now trying to find a recent review of a couple year old cake is almost impossible. So that will be my main objective with this site. I will aim to keep my reviews as straight to the point as possible, providing what the tastes and smells are without too much added in colourful talk, and I will revisit all of my cakes with an updated review yearly.
Due to my strong dislike of ads plaguing the internet, this site will remain ad and sponsor free. If you would like to help out and send me a donation to help cover hosting costs or add to the tea fund, please click the button at the bottom of this page to make a donation through PayPal.
If a vendor would like to send me samples I will be more than happy to accept them but this does not guarantee a review. I approach every new tea session with an open mind and will evaluate any free samples just as I would any other tea – fairly and honestly.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy.
